Both Sides Are Crucial Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Both Sides Are Crucial

If the church wants to serve God well
Of things she needs to speak
Life’s Way to Heaven, death and hell
Minimum once a week

Life’s living truth, death’s deadly facts
From the old books and new
How the church formed in the book of acts
How Jacob birthed the Jew

Each testament wears a title
Yet both direct the same
To the Jew and church are vital
Regardless of their name

What’s crucial, in the new one
Is mirrored, from the old
That Isaac whispered, to his son
The gospels, echo bold

More than once, God speaks of things
Meant for when times draw near
Now more and more as if on wings
They suddenly appear

Not left, not right, look straight ahead
Regarding where you are
Ponder on what the bible’s said
Life’s answer, won’t be far

When The Rock is one’s foundation
Instruction, don’t forget
Though man, though city, or nation
The finish will be correct

Remember the cross of Jesus
Death’s curse to Adam made
The Savour’s blood released us
When all man’s debts were paid.....
