Bottled Poem by Matthew Abel

Bottled

Rating: 3.5

Writing is therapy
It is
Release
A pen is the only way to open
A bottle of feeling
To be spilled directly
Onto a sheet of paper
But
Beware
Heed the warning
Contents
Are
Under pressure

Each day begins
With a bottle
Empty
Slowly
Through the day
It's filled
A smile
Glance
Laugh
From you they bring
Instant
Emotion

Bottle it up
Seal it in
Cap the top
And I'm careful
Not to drop it
Around you

One day
I pray
I'll show you
The pages you stained
But until then
I'll keep it in
And at days end
Need
Therapy
