Boundless Love Prose Poem by Carla Murray

Boundless Love Prose

As I look back at my life, there are no words in my mouth, but there is now a sparkle in my eye that you must see. A skip in my step that was never there, and almost always a smile on my lips, keeping back the laughter held deep inside my throat, waiting to escape.

But you know that, don’t you? You realize this, as you are a wise man. I have found my way at last in a world that can be cruel and unforgiving. For as I fell, you would reach out your hand and help me stand. And as I collapsed, you would lift me up, so I could walk again. And today, I can walk alone, and you understand.

You helped me see flowers amongst the weeds and sunshine inside the rain. Trails where there were none and waterfalls where only barren land used to exist. Azure skies instead of grey clouds, as hope replaced my hopelessness.

When you are old and gray and I am with God, you will know deep inside that you helped me not only find myself, but realize that I am actually worthy of being loved. For you loved me throughout it all.
