Box - Poem by Daniel Adams
Walking in, I kick off my shoes,
I fall in your arms, beats away the blues.
Close the door, with a click it locks,
You and me, inside our box.
Together we cook dinner, with a bottle of wine,
Our future’ll endeavour, like a beacon will shine.
Close the door, with a click it locks,
You and me, inside our box.
We fall into bed, together making love,
Fitting forever like a hand in a glove.
Close the door, with a click it locks,
You and me, inside our box.
Grow old together, age is a toil,
Hands held together, we go into the soil.
Close the door, with a click it locks,
You and me, inside our box.
But today while we’re still young,
The rest of our lives, a song still unsung.
Close the door, with a click it locks,
You and me, inside our box.
I love you.
