Brain In The Root Poem by Ashik Mahmud

Brain In The Root

There was a tree in the age
Before the Ice age, A Green Tree-
It had Everything and brain like Icarus
In its root; Like Doctor Fostus
In the boot it had foot-
So cool, crazy, radical a root grows
Grounded firmly so should not move.

A brain rooted firmly in the root
Eyes on the top towards the sky.

So it thinks seeing cloud,
'Why does a cloud stay still
and I have to move
Why do sun runs away from me
And I have to chase it down'

Then it speaks loudly-
'Poor you all, sorry, You cant move
Look at me, I am so cool and normal
A brain in the root, So I think
Eyes on the top, So I see.'
