Break! Poem by Rodion Myshkin

Break!

A moment to meditate
Before I dedicate,
Closed walls cannot confine
Darkness was mine,
Escape or conform
Fury cannot calm the storm.
Greatness feigned by social ties
Honour borne from shameful lies,
Image just another contrivance
Jesting an altruistic connivance,
Kindness shown to gain regard
Love deceived garnered reward,
Morals took a back seat
Nature primal tuning the beat,
Owning up to vile thoughts
Pride so wounded by aching clots,
Quench forth my greed
Rules too human to heed,
Shrunk from stature unjust reckons
The vacuum of corruption beckons.
Usher in all my mistakes,
Void begins the journey brakes,
Wailing mind sprouts in clarity
Xerox me for ageing posterity
Yearning immortality I slam Nora's door,
Zealous shadows question, no more.

The past was fake,
The present, just for sake,
The future, mine, I take,
... Break...
