Break Me Poem by Renee Wangwe

Break Me

It's in the way I smile,
Pretty enough but not quite right.
The way I dress,
Cute enough just not quite right.
The way I speak,
Bold enough but not enough.
The way I act,
Weird enough they say.
The way I feel,
Deep enough but far too much.
The way I understand,
Quite right if only I was the right girl.
The way I retaliate,
Snob enough so I'm more than enough.
The way I hope,
Too much; way too much.

To love isn't bad.
To love YOU was weakness.
You created a crevice within me,
So deep I am merely a shadow,
Of a shadow,
Of a former self.
Your name I now associate with games,
Your face I wish I could burn from my mind.

To play the game,
You taught me well...
SO congratulations!
For destroying a heart that once was.
