Break Me Poem by Jennifer Peckins

Break Me

Finally heard your voice
Yet I sit alone
I just listened to your words
As I talked to you on the phone
I had nothing to say
I couldn’t again repeat I’m sorry
I’m sure you wouldn’t like to bring it up again
I can’t bear talking about that story
Doesn’t mean I’m not always thinking about it
Or shaking trying to hold back tears
Not explaining to anyone
Only my dreams know my fears
