Rehab Romance Poem by Jennifer Peckins

Rehab Romance

It’s like they don’t want us to be together
Because they know this might last forever
Forever wanting us together never
Something like this could never be
That don’t mean this is the wrong place or time
Maybe this just isn’t the place to find
Something so perfect in such little time
But I’ll try and sneak glances across the floor
Blow you a kiss as you walk out the door
Every glance and smile leaves me wanting more
Wanting something that was never in store
So why am I so happy living this way
When we found interest in only a few days
We thought for this happiness we’d never pay
Pay for all the secrets we’d sneak to say
Will our eyes still meet out of this place
Will you try everyday to see my face
And will your sweet lips I ever taste
I just want to win this endless race
While we’re still together I’ll lick your tears
And take those tears and drown your fears
Fears so secret I’ll keep from your ears
And lose ourselves with a few beers
So we can lie careless side by side
And under the covers from the world we’ll hide
Screaming at the top of our lungs to get off this ride
We’re okay, because to us the world lied
