Break-Up Poem by Megan VanPool

Break-Up

This is the part I hate the most
Simple goodbyes that last forever
Not wanting to ever let you go
Your hands in mine
Fingers entwined
People around us buzz
In the speed of life
But we're frozen in a single moment of sincerity
Soft breath on my neck
Not wanting to go
I'd like to stay in your arms for all eternity
Your loving grasp
Our eyes lock
Our lips meet
You whisper softly it's time to go
I watch you as you leave
And bury my pain
The forgotten words that were not exchanged
I turn and leave
My paradise turned black with sadness
A promise I made
I knew I'd break
The blade is cold
With tears in my eyes
I leave my life...
