Breaking Me Poem by Maxine Sousley

Breaking Me

Throw Your Book at my feet
Tell me the reasons and the whys
Read it off one sentence at a time
Lock me away to cover the lies

I can’t breath anymore
I can no longer find my voice
You tell me that my life is yours
You have taken away my choice

What if I wanted to run
Throw this back in your face
What would you do to me then
Put me back in my place

You are killing me too slow
What are you waiting for
Bury me quickly please
I am not yours anymore

bury me, I'm no longer yours; what a paradox! I'm no longer yours, I'll run and find myself anew. oh, my goodness, this poem goes to the heart of love, living and lost.

This is an amazing poem. I love it and I am totally knowing that feeling. My dads like that.
