Breaking Seasons Poem by Fey Shane

Breaking Seasons

Rating: 5.0

Under steel blue skies
Against frozen rivers and falls
Clawing their iron roof
Waiting for the waking touch of warm rays

The soft deadly blanket lies silently
Mother slumbers below
Heaven cries

The sheet slips
Mother stirs

Arise life

Transparent teardrops tumble to the terrain
The slippery grass and sidewalk shine

A red bird twitters
Its bloody chest stark
Against the iron sky
Brown tendrils curl against the bark

The sun shines the cool yellow
Of lemonade on a warmer day
On goes the steady clop of sneakers

And the splash of gentle tears
Against cement

On the robin sings
