Breakup Blues Poem by Ibrar Siddiqi

Breaking up
hurts like like a brick through a window.

Another pain unlike glass,
takes time to mend.

Faced weeks of uncertainty,
waiting for the end.

Expecting it to happen,
felt like the bottom dropped out of my world,
when the break up unfurled.

I cannot get over what happened,
take me ages to love again

For now my new lover,
is the pain you left me with.

I wish no ill feelings,
I wish all happiness you deserve

Love is a learning curve
Find another teacher to learn from,
turn my frown to a smile.

Though I'd love myself,
it would be a while.
