Breakup Chaos Poem by Wendy Murphy

Breakup Chaos

Too blind to see
The chaos you caused
Normality freed
As you walked away from it all

The ones you hurt
when you said ‘Forever’
Withdraw to inner sanctions
Spurred by confusion, pain
and distrust from your actions

This is the war you chose
I chose not to fight
These are your demons
Who seek you at night
These are your wrongs
You must someday make right

Selfish you were
Abandon without thought
Of the little girl born
But in your mind, did not cross
A bad seed now planted
From the pain of your labor
That years from now
You will fail to save her

Your life as it was
Will never be again
Though not always perfect
You lost a good friend

She will always be that rock
In the little girls storm
Though you try to provide shelter
And try to keep her warm
But your shelter has holes
In the exterior wall
It can never be rebuilt
To withstand your fall
(out of grace in your little girls eyes
After all your MAJESTIC lies)

This is the war you chose
I chose not to fight
These are your demons
Who seek you at night
These are your wrongs
You must someday make right

As you continue to break promises
Your honor dishonored above
Your little girls trust is compromised
And stripped of those she loves

In the end you reap what you sow
Everything gone that was dear to your soul
No sustenance that will ever last
Goodbye to your entire past
