I am running; whooshing sounds
In the wind rushing through my
Lungs. Or is it my hair,
Rushing through blue waters?
I do not know. I only know that
I am running to you; to be
Engulfed in your embrace;
To have the air sucked out
Of my soul through my lips
To merge with yours. I am
Holding out my frail arms to
You, my beloved! Long have I
Wandered in the wilds in search
Of you! I see you now, my Love,
Bathed in glorious serenity, like
A lotus in a lake of luminous tears!
But, lo! The closer I swim to you, my Love,
Farther away in the waves you float!
My eyes grow dim in the dazzling light,
And my breath chokes up in my throat.
