Broke Blues Poem by Kovan White

Broke Blues

Rating: 2.0

They say you'll never appreciate being on top
If you were never at the bottom

They say you'll never appreciate being rich
If you were never poor
With so many options in life have I walked through the wrong door?

Is this some type of test I'm going through?
But I've already passed this lesson
Where's my paper I'll show you

Man life's a trip
Why is it that mostly bad people have grip?

If you don't glorify money, you'll be safe and sound
But it seems like money is the only thing that makes the world go round

I should've listened to my best-friend Patrice when she said,
"Stop using that card"
But you know what they say about people who don't listen
Their head's real hard
