Broke It Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Broke It

Broke it

Meant to write a poem
On, about brothel
And the role of women.

The word was broken
"Bro" was, once, nothing;
Today, though, has meaning.

Broth, too is a word
Related to brew
From old English.

Forgot all about past
Looked for "El"
"Is it word? "

It turned out that it is
Even in the plain English!
Different than French, Spanish

Felt, "Bro, " and "Broth" and the "El"
That are found in the word "Brothel"
Can tell me too much of the women.

Sat me down with my thoughts
Women marched in front.

Some of them were fetish
Some of them man-killer
Some used excess colours
Many were lost, depressed
Some worried like a pet,
Searching for a shelter
With petting to feel safe…

I remained with questions:
What brought them here?
Were they forced?
Or for need?
Stayed lost…with reply:
"This and that, all above! "
