Broken Poem by Kenneth Muhangi

Broken

The broken clock stole my time,
As I closed my eyes and sought to remember,
Are these the thoughts of my dreams,
Or the stories I had long abandoned, Forgotten to the pages of old
I shall never have those moments back, The sands of time sunk into yesterday
And should the tide carry me to where I might fall,
I do not seek to be touched,

The broken light stole my sight,
Saw me glare intently Into the dark,
At visions that I should not have seen, Apparitions of longing,
And soft spoken caress,
That sung upon my heart,
And led My footsteps to the hours I had lost
These are the reasons I am aloof,
And a shade of light is all that remains Broken with the blind stagger of my journey
To where I am yet to seek

The broken compass stole my direction, Led me to the comfort of my imagination, And saw chance feud with reason
But should fate dare steal a glance,
Or close the curtains upon my tears,
Then I, pushed on a path that I dare not question,
Shall embark on this quest,
To find all that I have lost,
For Without time I cannot see,
And if I cannot see, I cannot find my way, And if I cannot find my way,
Then I shall never know,
I shall never know.........
