Broken Pearls Poem by julie kops

Broken Pearls

Broken Pearls

Awash in a sea of darkness
With no hope of finding light
She weeps as though a tortured soul
Each tear giving sorrow flight
She catches them as they fall
As though they were precious pearls
She holds her head up high
As her true destiny unfurls
Each pearl a simple seed of hope
That forms a broken chain
To remind her of all that she has seen
To rise above her pain
The world may never see their colors
Each bead a step towards destiny
But a few see them shining there
As though they were her hearts key
Look to her now can you see them shine
The blood red pearls she wears
From a broken world bourne in blood
Yet their true glory is beyond compare
If you want to know her story angel
Read the pain and joy inscribed on every one
Hard won were her victories
Yet she wouldn't trade for even one
For each is as much a part of her
As the very air she breathes
And they will carry her sweet soul along
On the wings of hopes truest dreams
Love her there as though an angel
Hear her silence, know her story
Love her most for the broken jewels
A loving spirit shining in heaven's glory-JK
