Broken Verbs Poem by James Lewis

Broken Verbs

They say that beauty's sacred just to those who would behold, my eyes will never lie you're like the beauty of the soul,

a young and sexy sumthin, tell me, why are you so fine? The fellas that don't see this, tell me, why are they so blind?

Optometry can't fix the ills some men like me possess, I see you as divinity, it seems like you were blessed,

your parents must've went to church each day before you came, I must've bumped my noggin, let me spit to you my name.

I'm J-A-M-E-S from east to west the very best, a beast man nonetheless these other cats are nothing-NESS,

I cardiac arrest with barest minimals of stress, my protein shots are awesome,15 minerals or less.

Before we copulate I must insist we spend some time, perhaps a little food with which perhaps we'll blend some wine,

I have a little sumthin in the ashtray toss it up, go 'head and feel ya mind expanding as you cough it up.

The only thing that matters is you're totally at ease, your laughter is like music as you sit and smoke them trees,

I'm not about the sex, not yet, most men just don't agree, they'd look to have you naked laying down with open knees.

Tonight I'm here to prove to you that good men do exist, I have the papers ready if you're choosing to enlist,

the gratitude for servitude? Eternity in bliss, you say you don't deserve that well my dear, I do insist,

to show you how a man's supposed to do it all the time, no off and on, no magic wand with tricks to stall your mind,

folks holla 'keep it hunnit' all I hear are spoken words, with actions that are fractured so I guess they're broken verbs.

See all of that's behind you now, no need to fuss or fret, the right time comes it's guaranteed that WE will bust a sweat,

but in the meantime take my hand, I hope you hold it tight, the combination of 2 souls, no gamble means no dice.
