'Brooks' Poem by David Palo

'Brooks'

You are a small river, and we stand at your shores.
we are here for you always, awaiting any chores.

We love to see your twists and turns and the sounds that they create. For it's you that our heart yearns and teaches us to meditate.

Whether your voice is soft and gently flowing,
or turbulent and fast. our hearts are constantly rowing in your love that's first to last.

You sing us a song we've never heard before
and we're so glad that we can hear it. The warmth of which we so adore, and keeps our candles lit.

As you grow bigger and become a magnificent waterfall,
remember where you came from, all things great and small

That day will come when a mighty river you will be,
and all your beautiful waters will pour into the sea.

Between then and now we will watch you grow, Love you, and enjoy your beautiful flow.
