Brown Bears Fishing For Salmon! Poem by Denis Martindale

Brown Bears Fishing For Salmon!

The hungry brown bear stands alone
Close to the waterfall,
While two cubs watch, not fully grown,
And so can't help at all.
The adult waits for their next meal,
A salmon leaping high,
No matter how some folks may feel,
Not wanting it to die.

Yet even brown bears have to eat
What helps them stay alive,
Fresh fruit and sometimes fish or meat
That helps them to survive.
Such predators have families,
The little ones they love,
And have responsibilities
To see them eat enough.

Nature feeds their empty bellies
That hunger now and then.
We've seen this on our tellies,
And will see more again.
I don't eat fish that's cold or wet!
Pot Noodles work for me!
And later on, some cake I'll get,
With coffee or with tea!
