sav jamison

Kept it a secret
for way too long
I don't wana
cover them no more
no make-up to cover the scars
no sweatshirts to hide the bruises
short hair to show the marks on my neck
and the truth to be seen
wait, what? !
I don't want attention
don't leave me here with her
come back to protect me
don't hurt me
please, I didn't mean it
wait, who's that coming through the door?
Thank you, oh thank you
for coming back for me
the bruises are gone,
but scars still remain
the truth has been told
and lies have gone away
