Build Your Unique Identity Poem by Sumita Jetley

Build Your Unique Identity

The morning broke with a silent roar,
An email arrived, closing a door.
Plans unraveled, dreams undone,
A deal once bright, now lost in the sun.

She froze in the quiet, the weight so real,
Her chest heavy with what she couldn't feel.
The city hummed, a distant tune,
Yet inside, her world felt out of tune.

But then it came, like a soft refrain,
Words from her grandfather, easing the strain:
"Apna virad sambhaal, my dear,
Hold to your grounding, keep it near."

She moved to the window, coffee in hand,
Let the light touch her, let herself stand.
A notebook waited, its pages bare,
A ritual of hope in moments of despair.

Grateful: My team, who trust and stay.
Focus: To salvage, to find a way.
Let go: This failure does not define,
The storm will pass, the stars will shine.

Each word she wrote was a tether, a tie,
Binding her spirit, lifting it high.
The storm was fierce, the loss still raw,
Yet in her practice, she found her law.

By noon, she'd rebuilt, piece by piece,
By evening, her doubts began to cease.
By week's end, her vision renewed,
Her strength from the storm had only grew.

So when the winds howl, and shadows fall,
Listen within: Apna virad sambhaal.
Your grounding, your ritual, your soul's own guide,
Through every storm, it will stand by your side.
