Bureaucrats Poem by Francis Duggan

Bureaucrats

'Tis not them but what they stand for I do hate
These Government and Corporate Bureaucrats who run the State
They create the financial barriers that keep poor people down
These people do not live in the poor side of the town
They make life harder on those who are doing it tough
On those who cannot afford to pay rent and are obliged to live rough
Bank and Government Bureaucracies create the social divide
A gap sad to say that is growing ever wide
They lack in common sense and compassion so such they cannot show
They deny the poor battlers of a 'fair go'
Poor people cannot borrow money condemned by their address
And thus are deprived of any opportunity of financial success
'Tis what they do stand for that I do detest
To keep the poor down they are doing their best.
