When she shows up
everybody happy in the heart,
waving the hand
up in the air.
Though walking on weary foot,
but feeling so good,
high in the mood,
chanting 'long live A-may Su.'
When the dictator appears
the people feel a great fear,
their hands putting together
in a praying manner,
squatting on the ground,
casting the eye down,
bowing the heads,
keeping in silence.
(A-may means mother)
