Carpe Diem Poem: Burn Without Measure
Why whisper when the heart can roar?
Why sip, when fire begs the throat?
The world is wide, but time is thin,
And caution turns the brave to smoke.
Leap, before the edge is gone,
Speak, before the tongue grows tame;
The soul remembers heat, not hush,
And greatness burns in unchained flame.
Let fear retreat, let doubt stay small,
Let longing stretch and break the bars;
Intensity, unsoftened, raw,
Will leave a trail beyond the stars.
For life is brief, and moments flee—
Better to burn than merely breathe;
Better to love with all your force,
Than bow to fear, deny the wreath.
