Burning A Dream Poem by Lely Atempa

Burning A Dream

Rating: 5.0

Protecting each dream, right in the center
A few wishes glow a long time.
The desire goes first, then outer ideas
Fading away, leaving nothing behind.
Hope, Pride and Faith, burns easily,
It disappears as if it was never there-
Flame doesn't care. You can find what's
Left of the dream in charred ashes.

Some dreams have to burn, trying to be important
But means nothing to people. More disturbing
Then a fading dream are the dreams that people
left behind and did nothing- desolate
Minds, miles of guilt in their souls,
And the terrorized spirit where the darkness
Lurks and destroys anything that moves. If a dream
Isn't achieved, no one needs it to burn-
Ignorance can dance all night and day.

So i've burned my dreams. And there are many
That I haven't achieved, and nobody has.
