Burning Papyrus Poem by Wesley Mincin

Burning Papyrus

Burning Papyrus

A piece of paper,
suddenly turns brown.
It spreads from the center,
and envelops the papyrus.
A hole is scorched,
fire burns away the center,
and starving, eats away,
the rest of it.
The paper is consumed
It shrivels up feebly
The flame sears it black
Sparks running along its edges,
picking up scraps.
The paper falls as ash
