But I Survive Poem by The Enigma

But I Survive

Rating: 4.0

You always asked me why
With all this I do not cry
But what no one had known
That behind this face of stone
Is someone who once dreamed of death
Someone who wished to take their final breath
I almost seemed forgotten
Surrounded by the dead and rotten
Then you awakened me
Some how you set me free
Some how you stopped the bleed
But from there you could not lead
But still the words unspoken
I'm still bruised and broken
But I still survive
