Butterfly Poem by Keysha Sanchez

Butterfly

Rating: 5.0

Grasping my hand, holding on tight
I cry your name as we take flight
Our beautiful wings
softly a lulliby they sing
A blur of breath-taking colors
bringing happiness to others as we fly by
in a trance feeling so high
We dance, making colors in hte morning sky

I''ll never shed a tear
I''ll have no reason to fear
as long as I''m here
with you by my side
there''s no reason to run and hide

Slowly the day comes to an end
with it a new friend
as the sun goes down
Amazed-I look around
lurking within the darkness so many things
that can come out and hurt me
but with you and these beautiful wings
why would anyone hurt me?

I''m the innocent butterfly
taking your breath away as I fly by

I think this is a beautifully written unique poem. Using butterfly as a metaphor of death is amazing.........10/10.
