Butterfly’s Kiss Poem by Alfred Ramos

Butterfly’s Kiss

On a lazy summer afternoon
She rests in her silky cocoon
Dreaming of that day
When she can spread her wings and fly away
A sliver of sunshine filters through
A peak of what is out there in the blue
The sound of a hummingbird is near
A wind’s song tickles her ear
Flowers bloom as nature’s smile
Making everything worthwhile
Almost naked to the human eye
A honeybee flutters nearby
Sucking blossoms bone dry
If you listen closely to the future butterfly
You can hear her cry
Of one day kissing a rainbow in the sky
