By Any Other Name. Poem by Ray Sinclair

By Any Other Name.

By what name shall I call you?
The emerald green of grass,
You are also the sky, crystal blue
a life that's come to pass.

You are the lovers first and final kiss,
who will forever be apart.
The fond memories of parents that you miss,
and love with all your heart.

You are the golden desert hue,
the rainbows perfect arch.
A snowflake dropped on cue,
budding wild flowers in March.

A walk along the ocean shore
with birds that skim the waves.
The lover and the clothes they wore
and cheeky misbehaves.

You are the imagination of art
both the colour and the form.
Texture of the bark,
on trees growing strong and tall.

The laughter in the air
of family and close friends.
The children whom you care
with a love that never bends.

You are felt and seen in places,
that some will never look.
In the weathered old aged faces,
worn out pages of a book.

'All the qualities and things you said
and many more beside,
I permeate the living and the dead
I am Beauty, I can't hide'.
