By The River Nile Poem by Eman Elbadawi

By The River Nile

On the shore
Of his existence
I wandered
I was wandering
And I sat down
Wondering
It's a wonder
The wonder
Of the whole world

No wonder
I sat down
By a memory
On the shore
Fishing
Memories
The pieces
I collected
And the body
Laid down
Lifeless
Helpless
Like the whole land

Helpless
I sat down
Wondering
On the shore
Waiting
For his soul
I stood still
It was flowing
The tears
Countless
Going
And coming
A long distance
Running
Streams
Of consciousness
Of love
Covering the whole land
And the body
Resurrected!
