By The Sea Poem by Juana Cruz

By The Sea

Rating: 5.0

By the sea,
The rolling waves call to me.
They woo and
invite me in.

Come, they say,
Come and stay.
I walk in, unable to fight
Cannot think for I am charmed.

In our arms
Wet and warm
You will find
There's no harm.

We don't linger
In the sand;
Just walk in
Walk in and stand.

And as we rhythmically return
To the sea from which we came;
Sand will drift through your toes
Until you lose your foothold.

And soon, very soon,
Your body upon us will float
You'll fight for a fleeting thought
As we rush to fill your lungs.

Just let go.Do not fear.
You belong with us my dear.
The salt of your many tears
In our midst will disappear.

Come, you neglected child.
Come, you beloved child.
Join in dance with your true sisters
Leave behind your past existence.

There is nothing to be gained
Even if you chose to stay
The only thing that awaits
Is deep hurt...hurtand more pain.

In the depth of the blue sea
You will find the rest you need
When you are no longer seen
None will lament - none will miss.

You are now surrounded by strangers
Who have shown you only anger
Join us, and those ties dissever
We will hold you till forever.
