Cafè Thoughts In Timisoara Poem by A J.

Cafè Thoughts In Timisoara

Life is interesting
It takes me to foreign lands
Which years ago I never would have thought
I'd love them as home
Romania
Neither did I think that I'd be grasped by mania
But this country has hugged me
By her Carpathian mountains
And valleys
I sit in a cafe at the streets of Timisoara
And recount
How life has been beautiful to me
I met my two wives here
The first in the North
The second in the West
I thought I'd love her best
Why did I go mad?
Why did my mind seize to be loving after the 'I do'?
I didn't know myself as a deaf lover
Who is numbed to the cries of his wife
By childhood abuse
But I will not amuse it
I will use it
As a learned lesson
And pull out the thorns it's left in my feet
And heart
To walk again
And to love again
I will not trip over what is behind me.
