Caged! Poem by Ayesha Riaz

Caged!

Rating: 5.0

Caged,
Like the parrot in the cage,
With his tip-top feather shape,
Brutally cut,
Like the birds in their so called sanctuary,
With their mouth taped,
Forbidden to sing,
Like prisoner imprisoned,
A slave to someone else now,
I am caged,
Like the voices in the winds,
Like the thoughts in mind,
Like Repunzel in the tower,
With evil spells circling around her,
Like Oliver twist in the orphans,
A slave to someone else now,
I am caged,
Like a sinner,
Being punished,
Like a beggar,
Begging for his life,
Like an insect in the jar,
I am caged,
And there’s no way out,
There’s a haunting spider web,
And I am the little bee!
Caged.
