Cakes Of Distinction Poem by Marilyn Lott

Cakes Of Distinction

People have such wonderful talents
In many different categories
We saw a cake competition one day
They stood out in all of their glory

A very fancy birthday cake
With such details you’d be surprised
A round barn cake was wonderful
A delight before your eyes

A diaper bag for the baby
With a bottle right by its side
Even a little bib was there
Talent one should never hide

Such delicate intricate details
That decorated these special cakes
I would certainly hate to be a judge
For a decision I could never make

Colorful and exciting they all were
As we saw them one at a time
And then of course we headed off
For it was time for us to dine!
