A sky of peach
Trees reach nimble arms
Upward to the fall
And you were there...
I hold you like a
Reflection in a quiet pool
Yet in a passing moment
With a touch of a dewdrop
You are gone.
One second of infamy
Holds you from despair
Or the same flings you
Into the oncoming truck.
I stumble behind you
On a cold trail
Limping of a weary, searching heart
Getting the better of me.
Send up a flare
So I can warm myself
In the flash of light-
You know you fear what I am used to.
Rose to puce to velvet dusk
Colors fade
But light reigns only
If you open my door.
