Can I....? Poem by Langelihle Maphumulo

Can I....?

Rating: 5.0

Can i lay here beside you and feel the warmth
of your body all up against mine...? ,
Can i rub your shoulder all the way down,
line up our hands and feel your heartbeat
in the tip of your fingers...? ,
Can you listen to me for a while in this
silence and hear all i say..? ,
Can i eradicate this strong manly mask i wear
everyday for the world to see...? ,
And show you how helpless and weak a man
can be...? , Can i find my
completeness that can only be recovered through
my heavy breathing,
my gasp for air, my moans and groans as you
embrace me tenderly when i burst outloud with my head
burried in your ever subtle breasts,
Setting my body to tremble and struggle to calm down
and be peaceful within you and on you,
Can i sing you a love song...? ,
That's sweeter than that birds acclaim in broad daylight
as they flap through the blue sunny skies,
Can i be ascertained this night that a new script on my manhood
is dug out..? ,
Putting to rest all disputes in the days of my existence.
Can you observe and scrutinize me like some gigantic iron
beast...? ,
Unlock the doors of steel that harden me,
Behind which my emotions are concealed like treasure and rivers
running deep,
And when the sunrises...
can i step away remembering our devine and sacred
intimacy...? ,
Cherish how beautiful you are and from this day rejoice
that all answers to my wholeness lie in your love.....
