Free Me.... Poem by Langelihle Maphumulo

Free Me....

Feels like a hundred
Years ago,
like a dream that once
lived, Still
Noises in my ears stagger,
Visions in my head unfold
to a far away place,
Somewhere out of reach
You live, full of life like a new
born babe,
You hold and restrain me,
Clench your fists and won't
let go,
You haul me into the world you
Assembled,
Hook me into your changeableness
And bewilderment.
You've got a hold on me
And so i Pray we both find
A new day,
Overlook this catastrophe
And shame,
This sheer desire breathing
In torment for a life that could
Never be.
Best you let go
for we cannot be,
So let me be...
Free me,
Free me from your world
Of misery,
Distrust and distraction,
Free me...
Let me go...
Free me i wanna live...
