Can Love Be Lost? Poem by sujata kumar

Can Love Be Lost?

LOST LOVE

How heartrending!
You in pain excruciating!

Sweet the days, together we spent.
Why have we been distanced?

Gurgles of laughter
Savouring delicacies
A sip of cola
Gossips of delight.
Lost are those days.
The day I met you in sways.
Spring was the time
Sweet as Her's were your chime.
Why follow her cancerous stride?
Why make her cancer your ride?

The distance I'll bear,
Your love I can't spare.
I'd love to be by you,
Stand by you and hug you,
Reiterate thousand times 'I love you'.

Gracious Almighty
I beseech thee,
Take thee away her pain,
And let my plea not stray in vain.
