Candle Of Love Poem by Jimmy L. Lyons

Candle Of Love

Rating: 5.0

The night is young, the moon is bright;
everything's cool, everything's right.
Everybody's outside singing spiritual songs;
the power of love will right our wrongs.

I'm lighting a candle, my candle of love,
shedding tears of joy from Heaven above.
I know people are hurting out there;
I know, we all know, life's not fair.

We all need spiritual love and joy;
to share our love with every girl and boy.
We need to lift our spirits up
and drink from God's forgiving cup.

I sing the songs of Erica Campbell;
she's aware that life's a gamble.
She sings about loving God with pride,
says she's forgiven, has nothing to hide.

I light my candle of love and gladness
to rid my world of fear and sadness.
I want to receive the Holy Ghost in me;
the forgiving love of God is the key.

Father, help me let go, let God, and be blessed.
