Cantiga De Santa Maria Format 07 Cantiga Ii Poem by Timothy Botts

Cantiga De Santa Maria Format 07 Cantiga Ii

Still hostage to a mirror's name,
challenge the laws of paradise. -

Anticipated psychological divide,
reality and possibility collide,
total darkness and overwhelming light allied.
Deception's willingness to guide,
endure guilty pleasures and shame,
still hostage to a mirror's name.

Consume the toxic brew of jealousy and greed,
watching colorful emotions vividly bleed,
trapped in the automation of addictive greed.
Allowing weakness to lead,
changing definitions and fame,
still hostage to a mirror's name.

Explore the devastating reasons bridges burn,
confront aggressive stupidity at each turn,
educating insanity with no concern.
Manipulated lessons learn,
seducing love's eternal flame,
still hostage to a mirror's name.

Suicidal circles repeat and petrify,
mental disabilities grow and multiply,
hide within the ignorance of a clear blue sky.
Somewhere between truth and a lie,
exists abandoned sacrifice.
Challenge the laws of paradise,
still hostage to a mirror's name. -
