Captain America! Poem by Denis Martindale

'I can do this all day long! ' he's sometimes heard to say!
He proves himself to be quite strong when villains come his way.
Before each foe he can repel, before each fight gets done,
That shield he holds defends him well, but it must weigh a ton!
I can't say that I envy that, my muscles would give in,
I'd rather use a baseball bat, you know, like Harley Quinn!

While he's the guy they try to beat, he still competes with style.
Steve's such a noble guy to meet! Look at that charming smile!
Steve likes the regulations, too, so he plays by the rules!
Steve does what he gets told to do each time his country calls.
His uniform makes him stand out! His title says a lot.
While he's a hero, without doubt, is that all that he's got?

Yes, Steve does what he often does! No matter, come what may.
Steve seldom wants to make a fuss! With rules, it's hard to stray.
Black Widow wants to have a fling! That's why she often flirts!
Who knows what that romance could bring? As sometimes, true love hurts!
One look at her proves quite enough! Yes, she's the cuddling kind!
But that's just me, a guy in love! But Steve's not that inclined!

What's up with him? Please understand! His shield is all he grips!
I'm not like him! I'd kiss her hand and kiss her scarlet lips!
Flowers and chocolates I'd send, too. I'd even buy a ring!
Proposing! Yes, that's what I'd do! That's better than a fling!
But Steve, oh dear, he's not like me, he's oh, so squeaky clean!
Black Widow could make me happy! 'Nuff said! Know what I mean! ?
