Captain Of Souls Poem by John W. McEwers

Captain Of Souls

I, The Captain of Souls
do say unto ladies throughout
that my love's never hotter
and caress never longer
than when you sing and shout.

I love a loud woman
ladies with voice!
to tremble the very feets of mountains.

And when presented with them
these women with lungs
my loving becomes a fountain.

The Captain of Souls
is a strong happy lad
who will carefully weigh what he says.

He will hold open doors
he will give you a kiss
he'll say no, you don't look fat in that dress.

He is me, this Captain
this Captain of souls,
and he loves every powerful moment.

But he can't fall in love
without the woman before him
or the memories of that Harpy, Kate, below him.
