Cardboard Box Poem by Walter C. Edwards

Cardboard Box

I woke up in my cardboard box again today,
alone and cold what could I say,
sad how things turn out,
lost my wife, lost my house,
I asked for help in so many ways,
but now I live in my cardboard days,
I worked hard for so many years,
but as it turns out no one cares.
