You may be the lowliest
as long as you ache and your heart longs
or the eldest fool for love
or from a planet heretofore unknown
as long as you feel pain
and can be with joy
your story may not be true
as long as you can be trusted
see beauty in every day
and live with failure
no matter where you live or how
as long as you can suffer children
you may be unlettered
as long as you are sustained from within
and by yourself
when quiet comes
I will be careless
unconditional
and somewhat obsessed.
