Carnage Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Carnage

Carnage

Canada
Part of us?
No! No! No!
All of us…
Every part
Each corner
Everywhere
Yes, every single one
-who breathes on this land
-feels being in carnage…

Our eyes are drowned in
-sadness and discomfort.

We cry, shed tears
-for losing innocents.

A T-Bone accident…

No talk of why happened!

We lie and hide ourselves
-in silence; deep silence
-we deserve condolence…

Radio and TV stations …
-for once, have set aside
-competing for earning or finance…
-work free for nation…
-all of them are airing funeral…
-speeches, ceremonies; unite us…
-in love dies the age and gender, race…
-one we are with our loss and the dead…

My heart shouts:
- "Write the same for others…
-for the Jews and Hindus
-every faith, and Muslims…
-cause as man and mankind
-we are one…all are one…
-First Nations, Immigrants…"
