Carpet Of Lies Poem by Gabriel Bentheim

Carpet Of Lies

Here he is, covered deep in her carpet of lies.
The burden at the top of their wedding cake was looking at him, straight into his eyes.
Their little agreement faded just like an Alaskan Winter sunset.
Sleeping with the enemy was no overnight success.
Her jealousy tried to restrain his ambitions, but she couldn't light a wet fence on fire.
He wishes that his attorney was a hacksaw to his ball and chain.
The two mutual enemies each have an unloaded gun, with only one bullet under the table between them.
His patience is like a dam, about to break.
